About Me

My name is Jennifer, but everyone calls me Jenny. I'm 23 years
old, born and raised in Southern California. It was my love of film
that first sparked my interest in vintage fashion. Ever since I first
began developing an interest in movies at 12 years old, I have
been fascinated by the style of films of the past, especially
those of the '50s and '60s. Looking at old photos of my parents
during the '60s and '70s also played a big part in helping my
fondness for vintage to grow. They didn't have much money, but
they still managed to look great. I'd like to think that I inherited a
some of my style sensibility - and thriftiness - from them.

In my free time, I enjoy watching films, reading, eating, live
music, festivals, museums, marketplaces and thrift stores. I
enjoy simple things. I love animals and nature. I also love
traveling and going on road trips. When I'm not doing any of that,
you'll usually find me lounging around with my cat, Beatrix Kiddo,
who enjoys sleeping, shoelaces, and other cat-like things.

About Ninja Vintage

Ninja Vintage was born during the summer of 2005. I originally started Ninja Vintage because I wanted to start a website
that embodied all the things that I was looking for in a vintage store but was unable to find. That is, I wanted to have a
store that was small and not overwhelming to a customer, offered wearable pieces for everyday, and at prices that the
average person (like me) could afford. I also wanted to showcase items that I love and bring them to the attention of
people who might be looking for something unique. Browsing through thrift store racks and finding a great vintage skirt or
dress is kind of like digging up a piece of treasure. I want to share that with people who might not have the time or
patience to search through piles of clothing to find that one great piece.

I've always liked the idea of recycling, and more and more I'm starting to believe that the notion of brand new clothing is
overrated. I like that vintage clothing has a history. Each piece had a whole life before it was rediscovered, and the
person who buys that vintage piece gives it a whole new life with them. It's sort of a romantic idea. It's the same reason
why I prefer to buy handmade items. There's a little bit of love put into each piece that makes it more than just another
piece of clothing. It makes it special and unique, and it makes the wearer feel a little bit more special for wearing it. I love
that feeling and I hope that every person who wears a piece from Ninja Vintage feels the same way.
